How much a windowsill costs: what the price consists of and how to save
The question we are asked most often is “How much does a windowsill cost?”. And the most common answer is “It depends on the width, the length and what you add to it”. So that you do not have to guess, we have calculated three typical windows from the current price list and put together an estimate for a whole flat. For beginners we explain what the price consists of, and for site managers and designers we leave a ready estimate scheme.
What the price consists of
- Width. The price of a metre grows in steps: the wider the sill, the dearer the metre. So an extra 50 mm of width noticeably raises the total.
- Length. The sill is cut to size and cutting is included in the price per metre: you pay only for the length you need.
- Series. Exclusive and Compact cost the same according to the table, Wermodin Gentas is cheaper.
- End caps. A pair costs 226 UAH. One pair is needed for each sill.
- Cut-outs. For a reveal 30 UAH per side, for a grille 50 UAH, nose trimming 80 UAH per metre, by template 40 UAH per side.
- Installation. Measuring and turnkey installation in Kyiv and the region from 600 UAH per metre.
Why a metre of a wide sill costs more
This is not a mark-up but the logic of the material: a wide slab needs more raw material, and at a width of 500–600 mm the sill is made with two noses (what that is). So the price per linear metre rises in steps, not smoothly. The practical conclusion: choose the width you need by measurement (how to calculate), not “with a reserve”.
Example 1. Kitchen: a 1.2 m window, 300 mm wide

The difference: 468 UAH. In a room the sill is more visible than in a kitchen, so the choice of series is more often about looks than about price.

On long windows the difference between the series is more noticeable: 921 UAH. If the window is longer than the blank, the sill is joined: ask the manager whether a connector is needed.
A whole flat: an estimate for three windows
We add the three windows (6 metres of sill in all) into one estimate:

- In the estimate list separately: the sill (linear metres per width), end caps (a pair per piece), a connector for lengths above the standard blank, cut-outs by schedule, installation.
- No extra allowance for fitting is needed: the sill is cut exactly to the ordered length.
- If a client approves several options, count both series in one table as above: it persuades faster than talking it through.
What is not in the price
- Delivery. Kyiv — free from 10,000 UAH; Ukraine — free from 20,000 UAH. If the amount is below the threshold, the manager will state the delivery cost when confirming the order.
- Installation. Ordered separately: measuring and installation.
- Installation materials. Mounting foam, sealant, support pads (more in the article “Installing a windowsill”).
How to save without losing quality
- An exact width. Calculate the width by the formula “depth of the opening + overhang 30–50 mm + entry under the frame” and do not take “with a reserve”: every 50 mm shows in the price.
- Compare the series. If the price matters, look at Wermodin Gentas: a Turkish line with a premium look.
- Order everything at once. If there are several windows, one order may reach the free delivery threshold.
- Plan the cut-outs in advance. Correcting a sill on site costs more than ordering the right one at once.
- Do not save on supports and sealant. It is pennies compared with redoing the job.
